Dear Parents and Carers,
We are well into the second half of the term and the time seems to be rushing past. These last two weeks have been busy too with the Kinder to Year 4 students going off to swimming lessons each day. The children have made steady progress in their skills in the pool over the fortnight. You would be noticing though, how tired they are by the time they come home in the afternoon.
Student Riding their Bikes to and from School
We are pleased that we have quite a number of students who walk and ride to and from school each day. We have however had a complaint from a nearby resident of a group of students riding (some walking) through the private properties and gardens of their units in the afternoon and upsetting some of the elderly residents. Yesterday an elderly resident asked the boys not to ride through there. Once she went back in some of them came back to her home, knocked on her door and ran away. This behaviour is totally unacceptable and to be identified by their uniform as students from St Thomas is most disappointing. If your child walks or rides their bike to and from school, please check with them to see if they are involved in these incidences. I appreciate your support in addressing this matter.
Events a Plenty!
The Quest
We are only one week away from the year 5/6 production of “Quest”. It will be presented over two nights, with a different cast each night. We are so pleased that restrictions have eased enough that we can have 50% capacity in the tiered seating at St Mary MacKillop College. It does mean only 3 people from each family can attend (this is better than none) and our intention is to record each night and have it available to download so those family member who unfortunately can’t attend, can still see the production. Quest will be performed at night on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th November.
Carols by Candelight
We have had to make other changes to our end of year events. We won’t be able to have the School Community Council Carols by Candlelight, but we are going to have Carols by Sunlight!! Thursday in Week 9 is when we normally have this event, so instead of families gathering that evening, we will have a students only event during the day. Students can come dressed in their Christmas get up and we will have a sausage sizzle lunch and then each class will perform on the stage their carol or Christmas song. Once again, we will record these and make them available for you to watch via Teams or Seesaw. Carols by Sunlight will be on Thursday 10th December.
Daytime Disco
Ninja Obstacle Course and Colour Run
The Ninja Colour Run will be on Friday 11th December.
Kinder Nativity
Added to the above . . . Kindergarten will be presenting the Nativity, Year 2 will be having their annual Art Exhibition, Year 6 will have their graduation and end of year water fun day and Year 5 will have a day at the movies. On the second last day of the term, students will meet their teacher and class for 2021 and finally, on the last day of the school year, we will have the Candle Ceremony, with the handing of leadership from our current Year 6 students to our Year 6 class for 2021.
It’s going to be a big end to the year!
School Fees
A reminder that school fees are now overdue, for those who are not on a regular direct debit with us I ask that you settle your account with us by tomorrow so that we are able to meet our budgetary commitments at this time of year. Payment of these fees can be made by cash, Qkr, credit card, EFTPOS or BPay.
May God bless you and your families,

RE Week 6 - Be still and know that I am God
RE Week 6 - Be still and know that I am God
This week we focused on a piece of scripture from John. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
We also focused on the following quote from St Francis of Assisi.
“Spread the Gospel always. When necessary, use words.”
Even though words are important, our actions often speak louder than our words.
Be aware of your loving actions and the actions of others this week.
Reconciliation
We look forward to celebrating the Reconciliation Retreat Day with Year 3 students tomorrow. Year 3 students can wear free clothes and will have a special recess and lunch provided. The students will engage in a reflective day including mass. We keep these children in our prayers as they prepare for the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Thank you to the families who attended the family prayer night. It was a calm and peaceful evening of reflection. The Reconciliation Sacrament will be celebrated on the 2nd of December at 6pm.

REC
In preparation for next year's BYOD program, we have created a pre-recorded BYOD webinar. It is a requirement that all families engage with this presentation to ensure that everyone involved is fully informed.
This link will direct you to a form where the webinar is embedded. Please take the time to discuss all of the information within the presentation with your child and then to sign the digital user agreements, found within the form. https://forms.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=1sKomye-g0WmhlxvXEqel-J3rDXL9cZJruVxCaIJq_ZUQTg0RUFDU1BPODBZMFg5TUVLWEdOQUJMVy4u
Please watch this webinar by Sunday night.

Collecting student/s early from school
If you need to collect child during school hours, please ensure you email their teacher in advance. The students may be away from the classrooms for sport or at other activities or at recess/lunch break. This will assist in the child coming to the fornt office in a timely manner.
this week. Photos will be included in the next newsletter.
