Dear Parents and Carers,
Tonight (Friday), our St Thomas the Apostle School and Parish Community will gather to witness a profound moment in the lives of 46 students of our students as they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. This significant step in their faith journey marks a commitment to their beliefs and a deeper connection with the Holy Spirit. We encourage all members of our community to join us in prayer for our Confirmation candidates, asking for the Holy Spirit's guidance and blessings as they take this important step in their faith.
Fete Thank you!
Amidst the lingering laughter and happy memories of our weekend fete, we extend a heartfelt appreciation to the remarkable community members. Your dedication, boundless energy, and infectious enthusiasm were instrumental in making the fete an outstanding success.
From the colourful stalls full of handcrafted wonders, a hall full of preloved treasures, plants for the garden to the delicious aroma of homemade treats wafting through the air, our fete was a true testament to the collaborative spirit that defines our St Thomas the Apostle Community.
The success of the fete could not have been possible without the countless hours of planning, organising, and executing by our dedicated parent and parish volunteers. Whether you were a stall holder, setting up for the big day or packing up after (or both) or contributing your culinary talents to the cake stall and cafe, your efforts did not go unnoticed. While there were so many people who helped over the fete week, special mention must go to the fantastic committee…
Tia Giacomin, Vicki Pearman, Erin Maher, Tamara Lindeman, Ana Stewart, Melissa Fotu, Natalie Martine, Elizabeth Wilson, Deb Poulton and Susan Chant.
Although it is risky calling out names (as I know I am going to overlook somebody for sure), I do want to make special mention of Zwadi Lee, Victoria Town and Kelli Rootes for the huge effort they put in to cooking the sweet treats for the café. They worked tirelessly all week in the lead up to the fete.
We extend our deepest appreciation to each and every one of you who played a part, big or small, in making this event a memorable experience for our students, our families, and the entire St Thomas the Apostle Community.
Thanks to you all, the fete oozed an atmosphere of warmth, unity, and fun for everyone who attended
Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews
Teachers are well into assessment and compiling the Semester 2 Report. Semester reports will be available through Compass in Week 10. Catholic Education schools are providing graded reports with a general comment. Before the reports go home we are confident that all parents and carers would have had a parent teacher meeting with your child’s / children’s teacher/s. An invitation for Parent Teacher interviews has been sent out via Compass. Bookings went live last Sunday night. The conversation between you and your child’s teachers is a valuable opportunity to discuss the teaching and learning that has taken place this semester. They provide a unique opportunity to connect with your child's teacher, gaining valuable insights into their academic progress, social interactions, and overall well-being. The personalised feedback helps you better understand your child's strengths and areas that may need additional support. Interviews will be scheduled for 15 mins slots with the length of the interview time being up to 13 mins. This gives teachers 2 mins in between to get ready for the following interviews.
You can book an interview time with your child’s teacher by following the instructions below (see Booking Parent Teacher Conferences).
Student leaving at the end of 2023
Thank you to the families who have let us know that they will not be returning to St Thomas the Apostle school next year. We are going to miss not having you here with us and wish you all the very best for your new school, where ever it is, in 2024.
If your child is not returning in 2024 and we haven’t been informed, can you please let Naomi in the front office know. It is imperative for our planning that we have that information.
We only have 4 more weeks of the school year and they are going to be very busy.
Enjoy the weekend and we will see you all on Monday,
Yours in partnership,

On Tuesday all of 5/6 participated in a retreat day for confirmation. The students spent time in prayer, they read ‘hope and dreams’ letters written by their parents and took time to think about the gifts and talents that each of them possesses. A big thank you to Michelle Moule, Nicholas Chan, Vanessa Quigley and Melissa Tapp for their help on the day!
