Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back for Term 2! We're kicking off this term with a flurry of activities and events lined up over the coming weeks.
Firstly, our enrolment period and open days are coming up (more details below). Additionally, mark your calendars for our upcoming Mother’s Day Breakfast, Friday 10 May from 8am. Please RSVP by clicking here to let us know you'll be joining us for breakfast. Furthermore, we have our Athletics Carnival on Friday 17 May. This will be held at the ovals adjacent to the Burn’s Club. You have already received event information about that through Compass. On Monday 13 May from 6 – 7pm we are having our School Community Council meeting open meeting. For more information about this SCC meeting, watch a brief 1-minute video from our SCC chair, Daniel McInerney, explaining the purpose of the night. You can RSVP here to confirm your attendance. Refreshments will be provided for adults, and pizza will be served for the children while they are being cared for.
Enrolments for 2025
Enrolments are a key focus for us throughout May. The formal enrolment period for all Catholic schools commences this week and extends for the following three weeks. We encourage parents to submit any applications for 2025 enrollments during this time.
St. Thomas the Apostle is hosting two Open Days. The first takes place tomorrow, Saturday 4 May, from 9 am to 11 am. The second will be on Wednesday 15 May from 9:10 am until 5pm. If you know any family with a preschool aged child or are moving to the area or considering joining our dynamic school, please let them know about these Open Days. Word of mouth is one of the most powerful forms of promotion. For people interested and aren’t available on those dates, they are most welcome to call the school on 62314144 and book an individual tour.
Regarding families considering a transition to Marist from Year 4, in collaboration with Catholic Education (CE), Marist has ensured a place in Year 7 for all boys graduating from our local Catholic schools. We're immensely proud of the co-educational opportunities provided at St Thomas the Apostle for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. I'm more than happy to discuss this further with any current or prospective St Thomas parents. If you'd like to schedule a meeting, please feel free to email me directly at ursula.jamieson@cg.catholic.edu.au or contact the front office at 6231 4144 to arrange a suitable time.
I look forward to welcoming any new and continuing parents to our Open Days or for an individual tour time.
Yours in partnership,
